Ezzy Ray

Hello Readers! I am Ezzy Ray. Jut a little get to know the person behind the pages here...
I started writing back in 2008 on a little fanfiction site, staying up far too late and falling in love with storytelling one scene at a time. What started as an escape from my real life troubles became something that stayed with me through all the changes in my life. From becoming a mom, working full-time, and trying to make room for creativity in the middle of real life...writing has always been there.

I was born and raised in Eufaula, Oklahoma, and my small-town roots have a way of finding themselves in my stories. When reading I’m drawn to complicated characters, deep friendships, messy love, grief, and the moments that force people to figure out who they are when life does not go the way they planned. I also enjoy the occasional spicy book.

As a writer I don’t stick to just one genre because life does not fit neatly into one box, and who wants to check only one box when there are so many options. No matter what kind of story I’m telling, I want it to feel honest. I want my characters to make mistakes, love hard, break apart, and find a reason to keep going.

A lot of the emotion in my books comes from real places. The stories themselves may be fictional, but the love, loss, fear, hope, and pieces of people woven into them are not. Writing gives me a way to hold onto those feelings and turn them into something another person might recognize in themselves.

When I’m not writing, I’m usually with my kids, working, listening to music, or thinking about the next story.

I write for readers who want more than a perfect love story. I write for the ones who want to feel something.
